What a year it has been for PAYDAY!  The company celebrated its 15 year anniversary in 2011 and we are still going strong!  With it being such a momentous year for our company, it was only fitting that we close 2011 by giving back to our local community.

This year, PAYDAY was fortunate to be able to work with the Salvation Army and participate as a group sponsor in their Adopt-A-Family Program.  The Salvation Army created the Adopt-A-Family program to match impoverished families with individuals, families, small businesses or large corporations that are able to provide for one or more family’s tangible needs during the holiday season.  Most families are referred by local social workers who discuss the opportunity with the family and help them complete the application during regularly scheduled meetings.  The social workers are also able to assist in determining the family’s needs, and help them to create a wish list of items they may need or want.  This wish list may include toys, clothing, household items, and information regarding their home utility sources.  Sponsors are asked to provide two or more new gift items for each member of the household and to provide food for the family that will last them at least 4-7 days.  In addition, some sponsors make payments towards the household utilities or provide gift cards to local businesses that assist the family in obtaining fresh food or other important items.  The Salvation Army receives all gifts from sponsors, and the items are provided to the family during the week before Christmas.

PAYDAY participated in the Adopt-A-Family program by dividing employees into committees to review the wish list and suggested gift items, and to plan and shop for items we wanted to provide the family with.  Over $900.00 was raised to provide a family of four with ample food for the holidays as well as clothes, jackets, shoes, toys, electronics and family activities!  All items were decorated in beautiful holiday giftwrap and hand-addressed to each family member.  PAYDAY’s teamwork shined bright in the spirit of the holidays, and everyone enjoyed the heart-warming and fulfilling experience, while having a lot of fun together as well!

We hope to continue to give back to our community in many ways in the years to come, and we will be sure to share with you the wonderful programs that our community offers as well as the stories we have to share of our own experiences.
