Dine-In Restaurant Guidance for Approved California Counties

On May 15, 2020

As California keeps transitioning into Stage 2 of the re-opening process, the California Department of Public Health and Cal/OSHA have published a guide for dine-in restaurants to create a safer environment for workers as well as a checklist to show customers and employees that they’ve reduced the risk and are open for business. The dine-in restaurant sector may be open in counties that have received state approval, but are not permitted to open statewide. Only local health jurisdictions that meet the criteria set forth by the California Department of Public Health and follow the process in the county guidance may move further ahead in Stage 2, which includes dine-in restaurants.

Visit California’s County-by-County webpage to view a list of counties that have met the criteria, what the criteria encompasses, track your county’s data, and additional information.
